Win-Condition:

The mechanics (or combination of mechanics) that determine the condition of victory of a game or level in a game. Also called “victory condition.”

  • Goals
  • Score
  • Victory Points
  • Time
  • Turns

Particular Examples:

  • In football, for example, the win condition is having the highest score at the end of a set amount of time.
  • In chess, for example, the win condition is to checkmate (or capture) the opposing player’s king.
