Statistics:

the collection, analysis, interpretation, presentation, and organization of data.

Examples

  • How many times a coin flip resulted in "heads." While the probability that a coin will will result in "heads" is 1/2 or 50%, 10 coin flip could result in 10 "tails." That means that while probability of a coin flip resulting in heads was, still is, will always be 1/2 or 50%, statistics could show that the result was "heads" 0/10 times or 0% of the time.
